Indie Folk With a Twist

Songs built from honest moments, hard truths, and everything in between.

The Part I Gave Away (Too Easily)

The Part I Gave Away Too Easily started off as a bit of a joke, riffing on the lyrics of a few classic hits. But while writing it, the tone shifted. It turned into more about that feeling of waiting for someone you hope exists, while also knowing they’re probably never going to show up.

It’s a song that sits in that tension, feeling stuck with the resentment you build toward yourself, while trying to make peace with the part of you that didn’t see it coming. And underneath it all is the weight of realizing there was a part of yourself you gave away too easily, to the wrong people, time and time again.

The Best We Never Had

“The Best We Never Had” came together in about fifteen minutes. It's a catchy little pop song that contradicts the sadness of the lyrics. It’s about those almost-relationships that look right from a distance but fall apart up close. Two people trying to save each other while slowly sinking. It sits in that space where “almost” hurts more than the actual ending.

Fault Lines

“Fault Lines” is a song about reckoning with the cracks I created in the relationships in my life and the work it takes to repair them. It’s about owning my mistakes, sitting with the guilt, and choosing to show up better than I did in the past. These are the fault lines we inherit, create, and heal from, one honest step at a time.

Bite the Bullet, Babe

This song is about knowing your self-worth, setting boundaries, and refusing to accept less than you deserve. It’s raw, it’s real, and it comes from a place I couldn’t have written from a year ago. I’m humbled and grateful that it also won third place at the 2025 West Valley Country Music Association award showcase.

Single Life

I wrote this a few days ago. It's about being single, wanting connection, and the fear of letting someone close again. “Single Life” captures all those small moments, coffee gone cold, laughter at inside jokes, shared tears, being vulnerable, and the hope that someday they’re shared with someone who warms your world and you theirs.

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak Cover

I learned the second guitar part since the last time Jan and I tried this one, and when she came through town we wanted to give it another shot. Wicked Game has always been one of those songs that leaves a lot of space — and that’s exactly why we picked it. It lets the harmonies breathe, lets the tension sit, and doesn’t need anyone trying to lead. Our voices meet in the middle on this one. No pushing, no competing. Just that quiet restraint where the song really shines.
